Kevon Looney Makes Team History In Warriors-Kings Game 5 On Wednesday

Kevon Looney may not be the most skilled center in the league nor the biggest factor in terms of scoring, but the Golden State Warriors big man is one of the most impactful players in the entire league and he may just be the best role player in the NBA.

Entering Wednesday night with their first-round series against the Sacramento Kings tied up at 2-2, the Warriors looked to get a massive win on the road and they were able to do so in large part thanks to the game Looney had.

The Warriors won 123-116 in Sacramento and playing a total of 35 minutes, Kevon Looney recorded 22 rebounds, four points and seven assists, making team history in the process.

Recording his second 20-rebound game of the series, Looney became just the third player in Golden State Warriors history to have multiple 20-rebound games in the same playoff series, joining two Hall-of-Famers in Wilt Chamberlain and Nate Thurmond.

That is quite the list for Kevon Looney to put his name on and anytime you are being mentioned with Wilt, you are doing something right!

Looney has been a work-horse for the Warriors throughout their championship seasons and once again, he is making his presence felt in the playoffs.

The Warriors have now taken their first lead of this first-round series against the Kings, as they are up 3-2 heading back to San Francisco for Game 6.

These two teams will play what could be the final game of this series in Game 6 on Friday night.
